Passions

I am passionate about all facets of Asian American activism.
I am passionate about changing the gender gap in STEM. I think its existence has everything to do with sexism and traditional gender roles ruining our self-confidence and holding us back from actualizing our full potential.

Interests

I've been playing the piano since I was 8! Of course, when I began it was not by choice, but to this day I love listening to classical music. My favorite composers are Brahms and Chopin.
Like most young girls, my parents enrolled me in ballet class for a semester when I was 8. I enjoyed class, but apparently the day of the performance I begged my parents to let me quit because I hated performing so much (I don't remember this). Three years later, I accompanied my visiting grandmother to see ABT's Nutcracker as a Christmas present to her from my father. I came out of the show jumping en pointe with my sneakers, arabesquing several blocks to the car, claiming I was going to quit school and become a professional prima ballerina and my parents better take me out of middle school and send me to boarding school straight away! Of course, that never happened, but ballet and other forms of dance will still hold a special place in my heart.
I love learning about nutrition, food science, and combining that with cooking! Like many during quarantine, I've experimented with a bunch of new recipes and can now make a mean pad thai.
